Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Collins (born in Mexico) is an Mexican American broadcaster. Her current job is with ESPN as a news anchor for SportsCenter and occasionally host SportsNation. She began her career at ESPN in the year of 2016. The daughter of TV reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins has been a bilingual since she was nine years old. It was a helpful skill that helped her secure her first job working as an assistant to the producer with Univision in Miami that gave her the chance to collaborate with producers of national shows like Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. Her first job was as a reporter for The CBS St. Petersburg affiliate after that. Her move to Rio Grande Valley in 2009 as a reporter for one of the Spanish channels KNVO TV 48 Univision, as well as Fox2 News. Covering stories related to the trafficking of drugs and immigration across the border of Mexico and Texas. Border, she worked as reporter for news on KNVO TV 48, the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 at 5pm, then as a reporter for news with a news anchor in English for 9 pm, after which she became a news anchor until 10pm before returning back to channel Spanish channel. Her duties as an anchor for weather or sports were regularly requested. Deportes 23 was Univision Dallas affiliate, where she was able to take on more responsibility. She wrote pieces on Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS and World Series as well Dallas Cowboys NBA postseason finals FC Dallas, and Dallas Stars. In addition she was also the host and produced Univision 23's Accion Deportiva Extra local sports show. She was promoted to anchoring sports on Despierta America Deportes' morning show. In addition, she served as an anchor on sports for Primer Impacto, a magazine program on the UniMas Network and Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collins was born in the city of Veracruz, Mexico. The city of Mexico City she was conceived on November 22nd 1985. She has an elder sister. Her family relocated to Miami in 1992 after leaving Mexico. In 1992, her parents separated and shortly afterward in 1995 she got married again Fabio Fajardo who was an engineer in the naval sector who passed away in 2006 from kidney cancer. When on vacation Antonietta was staying at her sister's house in Canton Ohio. Her older Collins brother had recently been offered the job of his dreams. Antonietta who was in high school who had a vision of how she thought her future would be like, visited Mount Union University in order to find out what she could get out of the college. Then, she fell in love with the campus. The university offered her the opportunity to study a major. After finishing high school, she decided to enroll at the university with a major in Media Studies. Mark Bergmann, her professor who was also the WRMU's 91.1FM station for which she worked for many years, became an acquaintance. Her professor Mark Bergmann inspired her with his enthusiasm for journalism. He also deeply impacted her.
